Thread The Word is operated in the United States by OPPA Ventures Inc., a corporation formed in North Carolina. We are committed to promoting and upholding ethical practices throughout our operations and supply chain. We condemn any form of forced labor, child labor, human trafficking, or any other violation of human rights, and this statement outlines the steps we take to identify and mitigate those risks. It is published voluntarily, consistent with the aims of supply-chain transparency laws around the world, including the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the Australian Modern Slavery Act.

Our Operations and Supply Chain

Unlike most personalized gift retailers, we make our own products. Blankets for US and Canadian orders are knitted in our own facility in Conover, North Carolina; orders for Australia and other markets are made in our Melbourne, Australia facility. Operating our own production means we directly control working conditions, wages, and safety where our products are made. Our supply chain beyond our facilities consists primarily of yarn and materials suppliers, packaging suppliers, and delivery carriers.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to acting ethically and responsibly in all aspects of our business, including the sourcing of materials. We believe in treating all individuals with dignity and respect, fostering safe and fair working conditions, and supporting the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

Supply Chain Verification

When selecting suppliers, we conduct due diligence to evaluate their compliance with ethical standards, including labor practices, health and safety, wages, working hours, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Supplier Relationships

We build relationships with our suppliers based on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to ethical practices. We communicate our expectations regarding human rights and labor standards to all suppliers, and we work collaboratively to address any identified issues.

Employee Awareness and Training

We raise awareness among our team so they can recognize the warning signs of forced labor and human trafficking, and we provide clear reporting mechanisms so any concern can be raised and acted on.

Monitoring, Reporting and Grievances

We regularly monitor our operations and supply chain for compliance with this statement. Anyone — employee, supplier, or customer — can raise a concern confidentially by contacting us at hello@threadtheword.com, and every report is investigated.

Continuous Improvement

We review this statement and our practices annually and update them as our business and supply chain evolve.

Approval

This statement has been approved by the leadership of OPPA Ventures Inc. (Thread The Word), demonstrating our commitment to combating forced labor and human trafficking in every part of our business.
