We are Thread The Word, a proud supporter of Life’s Little Treasures Foundation, a charity that helps families of premature and sick babies in Australia.
In March 2022, we heard that Life’s Little Treasures was looking for someone to knit special blankets for premature babies. We were deeply touched by their mission and knew right away that we wanted to help! We got to work, filled with ideas and inspiration, and thoughtfully crafted some beautiful designs that they loved very much!
Now we are so proud to be working with Life’s Little Treasures, donating 1200 specialised premmie baby blankets per year to include in their ‘Precious Prem Packs’. These packs are then given to families who have a premature or sick baby in hospital, to provide practical support, information and friendship, as well as comfort them and let them know they are not alone.
Life’s Little Treasures are also looking for other crafty people who can knit teddy bears and blankets for them. If you have a passion for knitting and want to make a difference in the lives of these families, you can get involved here lifeslittletreasures.org.au/get-involved/
We hope each family loves their little blankets and they bring some form of comfort in such a difficult time. We also hope that our story inspires others to join us in supporting this wonderful charity.
